From 2011, her work will get further momentum as she has decided to dedicate extra time for this work that is close to her heart. "It is something that gives me joy and happiness. I like to see them smile. I'm incredibly touched by their gestures when I meet them. It's an unbelievable and out-of-the-world kind of feeling.
I want to go more active on my philanthropic side and make sure that I touch more lives this year. I feel blessed because of the opportunities that I have got in my life and if I can provide some opportunities to people who are needy but have enormous amount of talents, I will consider myself blessed," she says.

Charitable works of Vidya Balan
Vidya Balan is associated with AmFar (Americans for AIDS Research) and Hale House which is a home for children who are born with HIV and those people who are affected by drug addiction. She also participates in programmes of the Harvard AIDS Institute. Her other charitable works are her involvement in children's books where the proceeds go towards educating kids.
