Mandela did end a horrible period and did a lot to contribute to the raise and relevance of South Africa, although some of his other decisions and friend circled(ahem, Qaddafi) seem to be questionable, the good may out-weight the bad when put on a a scale, and besides, which world leader hasn't committed crimes? The question is who's the biggest criminal ;D
