Protesters launched their shoes at stunned Chennai Super Kings players from the stands while others burned merchandise and jostled with police, demanding Indian Premier League matches be cancelled as the southern city reels from a water crisis.

Hundreds of demonstrators, some wearing black t-shirts and waving black balloons, gathered near the venue shouting slogans ahead of the Super Kings' match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

The match, won by Chennai in a thrilling, high-scoring final-over finish, was the first in the city following the reintroduction of the Super Kings franchise this season following a two-year exile for its involvement in a spot-fixing scandal.

Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Almost 4hrs to play a game of T20 cricket here in Mumbai this eve...let’s not become like golf where fans are begging for the players to HURRY UP! The entertainment package is there, the players need to get their skates on to keep it up!
