“We are excited as a government to play our part with
the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) and Cricket West Indies (CWI)
in the new re-development of cricket in the region.
We welcome the partnership with CWI in the development of a regional
High-Performance Centre

Kevin Sinclair with a 41 which helped Guyana steady their innings + two wickets in a winning cause... Has taken his first step in staking his claim for the #7 spot in the WI ODI team.
Alick Athanaze with a brilliant 75 off 55 at the top of the order has taken *his* first step in pushing himself ahead as a replacement for Kyle Mayers whose returns have been mediocre.
This is just the start, and they need to be more consistent throughout the series.
But these two guys are pretty young, and it is better for CWI to place their trust in them as opposed to Holder/Chase and Mayers/Charles.
Shepherd also keeps improving his bowling. While I have not been a supporter earlier because his returns were poor, he has clearly become more confident and consistent because of the trust Sammy has shown in him. As long as he does well, he should be there as a seam bowler for WI.
Overall, I hope the younger players use this Super50 to push themselves into the ODI squad.
As WI supporters, we are really tired of the ODI performance in recent years. Hope this changes at least in the next 2-3 years...
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
