Can Shakib al Hasan change Bangladesh's T20I fortune? It is too early to say, but one thing that's certain is that he demonstrates confidence despite all the odds that stack up against him. It's very rare to get Shakib in the best of moods and it certainly was even more surprising to find him in that state during the official press conference prior to Bangladesh's departure for the Asia Cup considering all things he went through in the recent past that eventually made him the eternal dilemma of Bangladesh cricket.

"This is how you (media) started and how you ended and I have nothing much to say regarding it," he said. However, Shakib remained confident that he will get whatever he wants as captain though he insisted that he is not someone who is very fond of taking decisions on his own. Captaining a team like Bangladesh can be extremely draining considering all the noises coming from outside the dressing room coupled by board members' interference.
