Legendary West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who is currently in Antigua wearing the cap of batting coach with the players involved in the Best v Best Test trial at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, has said
the West Indies batsmen need to have a survival mindset against the Sri Lankans.
The left-hander is, however, confident that the West Indies are equipped with the players to win the three One Day International matches against Sri Lanka.
“We have to be smart and find a way to deal with the Sri Lankan spinners,” he said. “If you can’t read, you still have to fight; you have to find a way to survive and you must have a proper batting plan.”

Based on the manner in which he plays, Shimron Hetmyer seems to have given up on test cricket. Is the T20 circuit his future?

I don't care if Andre Russell gets 5 wickets and a 50 in every IPL game he plays he should never represent the West Indies again... period...he finds every excuse in the book to avoid playing for West Indies except when it comes down to the World Cup and the World T20...he is a mercenary and sets a terrible example for young West Indies cricketers.....if he is picked for West Indies World T20 squad I will be supporting Pakistan.....

On this day in 1994, Brian Lara was dismissed for 375, the highest Test score at the time.
His record would be broken in 2003, when Matthew Hayden hit 380 against Zimbabwe, but Lara took it back not long after – in 2004, he became the first man to 400.
Just incredible.
