The Sooriyawewa pitch is one of the quicker tracks in the country though that is not to say it doesn't also take turn.

It is also one of the hottest venues in the country, but if the wind is around, the players may get some relief.

West Indies have never won an ODI series in Sri Lanka.

Their best result came in December 1993, when they drew 1-1.

64 - 1 after 12

12.2
Udana to Hope, sensational fielding, Hope has called Ambris through for a single, but seeing suddenly that Mathews
has the ball in hand, he changes his mind. Ambris is two thirds down the pitch now. Hope scampers back
to the striker's end, and Ambris is nowhere as the throw comes in and the bowler Udana takes the bails off.
Hope might even had made it had he committed to his call !

SW Ambris run out (Mathews/Udana) 17 (24b 1x4 0x6) SR: 70.83

50 to Hope after that run out and drinks break

17.1
Mathews to Hope, the prize breakthrough. This is fullish, just outside off stump and angled in to Hope,
who tries to lift this over the legside. The ball seems to stop on him a little bit though, and Hope is through the shot early.

SD Hope c Karunaratne b Mathews 51 (65b 5x4 0x6) SR: 78.46

de Silva to Holder, another googly, another wicket. Holder had no idea about that one. This is shorter than the one to Pollard.
