WEST Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer scored 30 unbeaten runs to lead the Young Warriors Cricket Club to the Berbice Cricket Board-organised Ivan Madray 100-ball cricket tournament title.
In the final that was held under lights at the Albion Community Centre ground on Saturday evening, the Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets batted first and reached 93 for six from their allotted balls.
Shawn Pereira finished with an unbeaten 21, while Eon Hooper scored 24. Eventual Man-of-the-Match, Trevon Stanislaus, who stemmed the runs flow, finished with 2-20.
In reply, Hetmyer led the attack with the bat to ensure victory in the 12th over. Ishwar Singh added 20, while Shimron’s older brother, Seon Hetmyer, chipped in with 15 unbeaten runs.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
