WI lost, but this was a competitive series. No Pakistani batsman dominated, we competed with a team of newbies, our bowling attack is finally decent, and had Holder opted to bat first in this final game, I bet we would have won.
We desperately need Darren Bravo back on the side before the England tour. I'd bring back Blackwood too.

the right handers were doing better than the left..something to do with Pak bowlers I believe and the pitch roughing with foot marks etc.
I would have brought in Jason Mohamed not Blackwood for Vishal by the third test, but I would have considered that move only after reconsidering the batting order.
in doing that I prolly would have chanced Dowrich at 3 and dropped Hetmeyer down..or drop him entirely, along with Vishal, for Mohammed and Blackwood..right handers.
I would move Jason Holder up, but how much is ticklish. I still sense there is just that much missing in his capabilities that makes considering him a top batsman risky. maybe to bring whatever it is out you still chuck him in at #4 anyway..chance it
another option was to chuck the rightie Chase in at #3...or #4
anyhow we would have to order Mohammed, Blackwood, Dowrich, Chase, Holder in the miggle..all right handers.... by the third test.
long time now I developed a batting law for captains in test cricket. that law is WIN TOSS..BAT.
I don't care what the conditions are..win toss bat. if the sun is shining win toss bat all the way to hell if you can.
there is one consideration or caveat: if you have a bowling attack like west indies used to have, then you can do whatever the hell you like in cricket. you may even consider letting a side have its first 2 innings in a row bowl them out for little.. then send west in to wipe off the pittance..so transcendent were the great west indian bowling attacks ::LOL:: ::LOL:: ::LOL::
but with normal attributes, bat on winning the toss...period.
there is also the fact that statistically the fourth innings of a test match is the most difficult of all innings in test cricket. don't take my word for it..the facts are right there to be double checked.
it was plain bad captaincy and very poor decision-making in the west indies camp to send the Paks into bat on winning the toss. who took that decision..was it Holder ::confused::
Holder will get blamed for it but I don't think such decisions are his-the captain- to make any longer. it prolly came from the trio Law, Estwick and Radford..maybe even quartet, with Jimmy Adams somewhere close-by.... the CWI chain of command.
THE TERMINAL PLAY WAS SENDING THE PAKS INTO BAT. THE GAME WAS LOST ON THAT VERY DECISION, FIRST MINUTE OF THE FIRST DAY. WE COULD HAVE MAILED IT IN RATHER THAN WASTE THE FIVE DAYS
I don't see much that was positive in this series. CWI is full of the same old crap that produces the nonsensical futility we see on the field, like winning the toss and sending in the opposition. John Dyson used to do that all the time giving up serious west indian advantage all the time.
I imagine that was seen as sabotage in time and the reason why he was fired ultimately

if I know that it is crazy to send in the opposition how come those highly paid cricket professionals don't know that even better than I do?
how come they never fiddled with the batting order when it became clear the Lefties were up against it with the Pak bowlers. we had KOA Powell, Hetmeyer and Vishal Singh in the team..all lefties. not one made a fifty in 6 innings each. Singh made 1 thirty score..Powell made about 3. Hetmeyer never got to thirty.
and not one selector, or coach thought of of what I say here and sought answers in re-selecting the team and reorganizing the order according to the evidence right before our eyes.
in the end we lost the series as incompetently and as ignominiously as ever, by a great lack of sophistication that results in west indies never really seeing and understanding its chances, and maximizing them. this series was as incompetent as ever and resulted in a loss.

Gabriels stupid, suicidal shot to end the proceedings with just 6 balls to go, was a perfect reflection of 'sending the Paks into bat' on winning the toss, a complementary act in perfect unison with the current low general and routine level of CWI cricket sophistication
I am not impressed at all! CWI cricket is just as jackarase as it was when they called it wicb cricket, having dropped the C from WICBC...as distinct as both wicb/CWI is from WICBC cricket..from what WICBC cricket was. like night and day eh ::LOL:: ::LOL:: ::LOL

they dropped the C in wicbc because it meant CONTROL..the west indies cricket board of control.
they saw and said that CONTROL was inconsistent with an independent west indian people/west indies, reflecting as it did the white planters who controlled not only west indies cricket but the west indies itself often in draconian ways.
is it ironic ketchim, master of irony, that the wicb, now morphed into CWI is structurally now exerting more control of west indies cricket than the planters ever dreamed of ::confused:: ::confused::
I mean CWI libtard cricket is basically, literally, fascism. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

Hey, all he could have done was get a Draw..
that would have hidden ....all the issues you outlined above !
remember : CWI sees a draw as a win :-[

wat changes..disbandment of the CWI bureau for a smaller..much smaller..admin, focused on developing a more inclusive and cooperative type admin for our game ::confused::
as to the cricket you wud think that with this west indies side the trio would want to avoid west indies bating in a fourth innings at all costs....
an intimation of sabotage enters at this point. Law, Estwick and Radford must know better, they cant be so stupid as to send in the opposition on winning the toss.
they are professional cricketers for christ sakes >
