FIRST BATSMAN IN HISTORY TO HAVE 10 NOT OUTS (70-99*)

CHECK THIS:

* When he scored 84* against NZ in the first test at Sabina Park, Shiv Chanderpaul became the first batsman in test history to have 10 NOT OUTS between scores 70 and 99.

OBSERVATION:

* Lara had only 1 NOT OUT between 70 and 99

80* vs SL at Sabina in 2003----the WI won that test.

* Sobers had 2 NOT OUTS between 70 and 99

* Tendulkar had 0 NOT OUTS between 70 and 99.

* Sangakkara has 1 NOT OUT between 70 and 99.


CONCLUSION:

* Shiv could have easily had 5 more test hundreds if he were supported by better batsmen.

* Oh well, a NOT OUT is great for the overall test average---and Shiv's test average is now 52.19.

* Anyway, give praise to the Shivster for his 10 NOT OUTS between 70 and 99----first man in history to achieve that feat.

Shiv has been unlucky a couple of times with his censures. I wish they would promote him up the order t use more of his batting skills. Westindies needs it.

* Shiv's goal is to score the most runs at the #5 batting position in tests.

* Steve Waugh has scored the most runs at #5---6754 runs at an average of 56.28

* Shiv is currently #2----6415 at an average of 58.31

* That 84 NOT OUT was better for Shiv's test average than being dismissed for a hundred.

* Shiv's average in the first test was 108(84* + 24)

* Had Shiv scored let's say 125 and gotten out----his average would have been 74.5

* At this stage in Shiv's career NOT OUTS are golden. ;D

* Hopefully Shiv can score at least 1 more NOT OUT in the current series.

* He would then hold the NOT OUT record by himself----47
