****Flower''s & Pietersen's England tenure OVER****

Kevin Pietersen has plenty left to contribute to the England cause says South Africa bowling coach Allan Donald.

The curtain appears to have been brought down on Pietersen's international career after England's selectors left him out of the tour to the West Indies and the ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.

But the 33-year-old's omission has been greeted with surprise and sadness by former South Africa fast-bowler Donald.

"I'd rather have a Kevin Pietersen in my side any and every day," he told Sky Sports News.

Pietersen, who was born and brought up in Natal, also found an ally in current South Africa paceman Dale Steyn.
"I remember bowling to him in the Second Test of the recent tour to England," Steyn said. "After one-and-a-half overs Graeme (Smith) came running up from slip and said 'What's your plan,' because I think I had gone for almost 20.
"Kevin had recognised that I was a threat and the way to counter that was to take me on and he got rid of me in two overs.
"That was it - I was out of the attack and he continued to swat everyone else around. He was that kind of player."

The two most dreaded bowlers of their generations coming in to support KP is just incredible and it shows the vast talent that he possesses.Donald said that they would any day and everyday have KP in his team and steyn retorted that,he dreaded bowling to him.ECB needs to reconsider its decision. They need KP to guide the guys around.

England's decision to end Kevin Pietersen's international career is still shrouded in confusion after national selector James Whitaker refused to divulge the reasons for it.
In an interview with the BBC on Thursday, Whitaker would only say it was time to "rebuild" and "reignite the passion" amongst the England players following a disastrous Ashes tour.

Man I tired of cricket and its elitism.  every freaking where you look in cricket is it some arbitrary crap from cricket officialdom somewhere and everywhere...

cricket is done!  toast!  it is now cannibalizing itself.

why wont whittaker/downton an' dem say why they tossed Pietersen ::confused::

is it because deh scape-goating him for the Oz Wash in some way..however obliquely citing him as cause ::confused::

people who administer cricket are always in some backward crap beating up on a player or players somewhere >:(

from unnecessary and too punitive rules for players, to bully match referees and incompetent and unfair elite umps..to arbitrarily tossing players...deh are always throwing their weight around.

I am sick of it!  I am sick of international cricket.  I remain in love with the game but I cant stand how it is played and managed from the national representative levels to the global game.

Piss on it!

Well if you're kicking your star player out, then you OWE an explanation. Because it sure ain't trivial and you're bound to explain what that non trivial reason is. What kind of crap reason is that?
Although I guess they think KP is causing problems/rift in the dressing room or something? And they probably don't want to take out all the dirty laundry in public, in fairness.

there is no fairness to it.  if you done with a player by rights you have to say why.

its time to fuhget big cricket.  time to go back to the ordinary regular cricket at the most regular level one can find and take pleasure in that.

international cricket in particular is the pits and I cant stand it anymore

Star player or not, the paying public always want an explanation, especially where that player is deemed to be wronged.

The fact is Pietersen is a difficult character and has a long track record of pissing people off.

I was reminded of that today, through some Sky Sports discussions, and from South Africa where he condemned the quota system to Riche getting him here to play for Notts and when Rice left he condemned Newell and onto Hants, not sure about the specific issues, but then to Surrey where he is yet to get into trouble as he has only played afew games for them over the last 3 seasons.

With England he had that run in, whilst Captain, which saw Moores sacked and he also wanted Flowers sacked. The latter did not happen and whilst the team was winning all simmered gently under the surface. Most recently we have the textgate issue with the Saffers which saw the Captain, Strauss, resign so there is a long list of issues.

Apparently, whilst in Australia I think after the fourth test, due to unease Flower suggested a team meeting amongst the palyers, no management attended.

During that meeting Kevin apparently had a meltdown criticising Flower's approach as stifling, rigid etc which the others did not support. As Harmison says what happened in that meeting should have stayed there unless it was agreed to feedback issues.

So with his history, that issue and the fact Kevin's behaviour seems to be affecting the team a decision was made and it appears Cook was pivotal in that decision. They may think with 34 rising let us look ahead and that is what they did. Had they not sacked him, it would have been difficult for the selectors to overlook him.

The ECN has not and will not make a statement but the reasons are being discussed and is out there so I AM PASSING IT ONTO YOU.

Was Simonds not ostracised in a similar having had several run ins with CA etc?

There is a question about Management's inability to manage him but alas it is too late.

Have they made the right decision will keep being discussed.

There have been a few documentaries as if the guy has died.
