“End the kabuki dance with maximum speed!” – Nigel Hinds to Claudette Singh

Chairman of Change Guyana, Nigel Hinds, has issued a call for the Chair of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Ret’d Claudette Singh, to bring a speedy end to the political “kabuki dance” stating that she holds the legal power to bring to an end the tabulations of Guyana’s March 2, 2020 election.

Chairman of Change Guyana, Nigel Hinds

In a statement issued yesterday, Hinds stated that Justice Singh has not utilized or sought to utilize the Region 4 Statements of Polls to complete the adding and tabulation for Region Four nor has she instructed that the fraudulent Region Four results be removed from the GECOM website.
“One assumes that thoughts and feelings must torture the Chairperson on a daily basis, through her conscience! Yet, even now, the GECOM Chairperson can clear her conscience and use her constitutional power to quickly end this kabuki dance,” Hinds said.
Below is Hinds’ statement in its entirety.
The legal power to bring a speedy end to the tabulation of Guyana’s March 2, 2020 election, resides solely with the Chairperson of GECOM. This has been the reality since March 4, 2020.
Justice Singh has not utilized or sought to utilize the Region Four Statements of Polls to complete the adding and tabulation for Region Four.
Justice Singh has not instructed that the fraudulent Region Four results be removed from the Guyana Elections Commission’s website.
One assumes that thoughts and feelings must torture the Chairperson on a daily basis, through her conscience! Yet, even now, the GECOM Chairperson can clear her conscience and use her constitutional power to quickly end this kabuki dance.
The loud and senseless screaming of Commissioner Vincent Alexander must be ignored. The shameful and disgraceful echoing of Alexander by the other two Commissioners representing PNC-APNU, namely Trotman and Corbin, must also be disregarded.
The Chairperson has the casting vote to join with the three Commissioners from the PPP and end to the madness that has enveloped Guyana, with increasing mental timeouts: from Mingo-schizophrenia to the magic dossier.
We have seen many justifiable requests in the media to use the Statements of Polls in a legal and transparent manner to conclude the adding and tabulation of Region Four votes; and rightly so. Completion of the Region Four Statements of Polls tabulation process requires two days at most.
Instead, the irrational screamer and his echoing cohorts seem to be prevailing over reason, by howling to recount in excess of 450,000 ballots, to be conducted over an interminable period that will be haunted by planned and unplanned delays.
Madam Singh has the casting vote to avoid the nonsensical and witless requests of the PNC-APNU Commissioners. If ever there was a time for essential action to bring about democratic transition in Guyana, now is the time. Due to the Coronavirus – tens of thousands of workers are now unemployed in Guyana, our 30 percent plus poverty level pre-election, has probably doubled, many of our folks are living on the edge of starvation, physical and mental health has worsened, insecurity and crime have increased, there is no economic relief package from the illegitimate government and the International Community will not support the election aborters of democracy; decisive action is needed now.
Chairperson of GECOM, Justice Claudette Singh, has the power bestowed on her by the Constitution of Guyana to end the electoral shenanigans; and must avoid making vague, amorphous or indeterminate statements that diminish the responsibility and authority vested in her by the Supreme Law of Guyana.
Justice Singh must use the powers granted to her under the Constitution of Guyana and heed the wisdom of what David Granger said verbatim as Opposition Leader at a press briefing held two days after the Guyana National and Regional Elections of May 11, 2015: “We felt also that many of the requests for a recount were frivolous… no not frivolous, no reason was stated and that it was not sufficient grounds for more and more boxes to be opened and there seemed to be a deliberate plan to simply call for the opening of boxes in all ten regions in order to delay the possibility of having an early declaration, so we feel it is contrived and it is causing great distress to the population of Guyana.”
We also have the powerful aide to the then Opposition Leader stating on the same date, what needs to be done by GECOM; – Judgment of Harmon: “That the chairman of GECOM – that they will release all of the Statement of Polls that they have, they will release it this evening.”
The Logic of Trotman was also espoused at the same press briefing: “We believe that the request for recounts, though they have started, were done in error and that the Commission should not continue beyond those few that have started, because if not, we could have a ridiculous situation of boxes being opened throughout the country, and I don’t think that the country and the people of Guyana deserve that.”
Madam Singh should fulfill the exhortations made by Granger, Harmon, and Trotman, as the statements are reasonable and sensible; and also applicable to the March 2, 2020 – General Elections. The requests by these gentlemen were made two days after the May 2015 General Elections. Now, 50 days after the March 2, 2020 Elections, we are still in Lowenfield’s wonderland, instead of having concluded a democratic transition.
The time is beyond overdue for Justice Singh to use the Constitutional Powers bestowed on her and end the kabuki dance with maximum speed, by formalizing and finalizing the simple Region Four tabulation process using the Statements of Polls and not indulge in further diddle and delay by dancing to the grisly cries of Vincent and his two acolytes.

The PPP/C is going to reach the county the same way they met it in 1992 or even worse. They will have a herculean task to bring it back on track. They cannot depend on oil with the present price. All the infrastructures are in chaos. To compound matters they have to deal with the Coronavirus epidemic. I wish them all the best.

Claudette..you are the most despicable, inconsiderate, unreasonable and unpatriotic woman in Guyana. Take a stand. PNC or Integrity. You are hurting a Nation.

My gut feeling:
After the recount the results will show APNU/AFC won this election bcuz they will find a way to rig the count and there will be nothing PPP/C can do. I am sure they already know how they will rig it.
This is the end for the PPP/C. They can never get back in power. APNU will stay in power as long as they want...for another 28 yrs or more.

We in the PPP must not allow the internal wrangling within the APNU+AFC de-facto gov't to make us feel that Granger is not behind the rigging . All these moves are primarily designed to win back support of the Int'l Community . One of the set backs is the Covid 19 assistance of US $ 475 ,000 , which the US has just given to the de- facto Granger gov't .despite all the others Int'l Community members calling for fair and transparent recount .
Harmon is not expelled from the APNU ,he has moved closer to the ballot boxes .There is NO way Granger can stand or will allow a fair and transparent recount as we have seen in Gecom Chair recent declarations ,.She bluntly refuse to allow Live Streaming which is a credit to Gecom since Gecom must prove that recount is fair , open and transparent , and not based on spreadsheet prepared by Mingo .and others .
So we must keep your guard up , knowning what Harmon did to Charles Ramson Jr .family which lead to the death of one of his thugs , a young GDF officer on Carifesta Avenue . Furthermore Claudette Singh move, of not wanting to have a close date for the election recount ,and preferred to drag it on for more than 25 days , is clear proof that she is trying to frustrate the Int'l Observers , to left before the final result is declared .This is the opening which Harmon wanted ,as he is now CEO of Covid 19 team .to enter the Command Center under the pretext of sanitizing ballot boxes ...Be prepared for rigging fellow PPP supporters .Our Comrades who are watching the ballot boxes be careful .

Claudette Singh is taking instructions from Joe Harmon and Amna Ally of the APNU+AFC.
A Congress Place operative revealed this information to a Liveinguyana operative earlier today.
The operative said Singh, Harmon, Ally and Vincent Alexander are very close. Singh is in the habit of always consulting with them before making critical decisions at GECOM. In addition she spends all day huddled together with DCEO Roxanne Myers and CEO Keith Lowenfield. Together they plan and plot.
The operative said that he personally heard both Harmon and Amna Ally issue instructions to the GECOM Chair.

The very moment Mia Mottley mentioned she would start with Region 4 counts first, when she was fresh and all, the whole process got derailed and Ulita Moore was dispatched by Granger quickly to the Courts to shop a partisan Judge - Franklyn Holder.
Everything was dandy and fine, Claudette Singh and Gecom was all onboard before this decision.
Nobody every noticed this ?
