"The decisiveness of the short period of colonialism and its negative consequences for Africa
spring mainly from the fact that Africa lost power.
Power is the ultimate determinant in human society,
being basic to the relations within any group and between groups.
It implies the ability to defend one's interests and if necessary to impose one's will by any means available.
In relations between peoples, the question of power determines maneuverability in bargaining,
the extent to which a people survive as a physical and cultural entity.
When one society finds itself forced to relinquish power entirely to another society,
that in itself is a form of underdevelopment."

Rodney is up there to. I had a question fuh him but he split too early.

that question would have slapped him in the face had he lived and won the political power..how to transform the situation in the peoples interest..especially how he would deal with bureaucracy

well of course...this is what Garvey said..and Stokely...before Rodney. they were all from the same school.

Rodney was basically a school intellectual, a man entirely of the mind.. he later became activist and lost his life quickly.

especially Stokely was intellectual and activist at he same time..in the face of the guns, in the direct middle, targets in an intense violent war....

Stokely was so brilliant intellectually that he was offered a full graduate scholarship to Harvard. Stokely had to leave america to save his life. somebody knew he was up for assassination informed him and so he fled

he was assassinated ultimately but much later in Africa

but I don't mind if its Rodney. and I am not making a list of highly gifted people. what I want to do is to bring Stokely to the fore. ..BECAUSE OF HIS IDEAS, THE WORK HE DID AND WHAT IT MEANS FOR US CURRENTLY

All of this about Stokely..and about rotten McCain... helps to clear up the. history of the times we have lived through, and still live in.

for eg..I knew of the american military problems with the soldiers in Viet Nam but I had no idea that it was an acual rebellions, that that issue was extensive as that video explains

I feel lighter for having watched that vid

Prejudice how? Rodney was a black man

and what did I ansah? I only arks a question..one that has terrorized revolutionaries all along the way....how to deal with bureaucracy

Bureaucracy has a vested, existential interest that is opposed to democracy. bureaucracy is the biggest enemy of the people along with the rich..both parasitic.

that's all..how would Rodney have solved that problem.

I mean I know how to solve it..its no mystery how to solve it. but you see when revolutionaries come to the solution they balk, cant go further, compromise and allow the bureaucracy to go on.

in that situation the bureaucracy takes the opportunity to collude with the forrin power, the Empire , to kill the popular movement that brought in the Rodneys..to overthrow the movement and the Rodneys and return the situation to the way it was.

at times the Rodneys may even lose their lives in the process of the betrayal. and Rodney lost his life by assassination before he got the power

I was always keen to see what Rodney would do..have done

Kwame Ture' had no problems with the solution. he was not a sentimental man, not caught up in stuff like: "I grew up with all those people, we went to the same schools same social class and all dat. how in the hell can I dispossess them now?''

Fidel Castro came from a rich family, went to the best schools, was even Jewish. yes Fidel was Jewish. yet he busted up his fathers farm and shared the land to the people. Fidel too was unsentimental in that regard..just like Kwame Ture'

that's the question googs. that same question that at least partly led to the fight between Bernard Coard and Maurice Bishop and the death of Bishop in Grenada. they could not answer the question of how to organize the society in the interest of the people.

they may not even have been interest in that question, but how to organize the bureaucracy itself in its continuation under their rule..like the Russian structure or other socialist efforts.

they were so doctrinaire in their interpretation differences, like religious zealots, that they ended killing each other
