read the damn article , man !!
"my Indian heritage has played the largest role in both my upbringing and my understanding of myself.
It is the heritage that governs the traditions that I've grown up with,
and that inform my decisions with respect to who I identify as my cultural kin."

Mr. Ketchim,
I promised you a response on this question on refugees from Berbice. My parents confirmed knowing some Berbicians who are living in North America, accepted under refugee status.

I am in awe of the looks of these 'refugees'
just the word 'refugees' makes one think of malnourished, sad and tired looking people wearing torn and ragged clothing.
remember the boat people?
not so the refugees coming to Canada now ,....... dem fat and shine and well dressed;D
