Crazy who was a bit annoying to me.

could be a first class calypsonian Crazy.  he is what I call a 50/50 artist. he would make one great kai'so and one bacchanal kai'so every year. that was here he annoyed in the lousy bacchanal song.

he was half Chinese and he professed his Chinese part was the money part and he went after money with the bacchanal songs
****
don't forget Swallow from Antigua who was a pretty good artist? Winston So'So of Grenada of the very sweet voice

and remember..a whole lot of African Trinnies have up the Island antecedents from the days when the oil fields exploded in employment. check out the south land for that, around the oil...La Brea, Fyzabad, Point a Pierre and so on

Calypso never really caught on in Guyana in my time !

as dance hall music sometimes, BUT Reggae was more popular .

But all these rum songs post 2000 that is called Soca Chutney seem to have an audience.

and the cross over with Bollywood tunes : I dont bother to even listen.

Chairman have a complete Rum Songs collection in the music forum ...

Whether Soca, Calypso , Chutney : never really had a  Guyanese audience !

OR the bollywood crossover ...

byron lee, and the Jamaican reggae had a larger Guyanese audience !

Boris Gardener , keith Lynn , Ken Lazarus et al

don't confuse Guyanese audience vs GT!

GT, yes you are correct.

however, in the country more people (black, brown, white, yellow, blue, etc) listen to Chutney
